Essentially recently published a tweet that teased the Ocean Depths variant of the Essential Phone. According to the tweet, the Ocean Depths variant will be available on February 15. The teal variant was unveiled in July 2017 alongside black, white, and matte Stellar Grey. When the Essential Phone launched in July 2017, you could pick from several color options, as long as it was black. White has since been offered as a second choice, but the mesmerizing Ocean Depths color might finally make its debut by week’s end. Essential published a tweet that teased the teal colorway. Keep in mind that, at an angle, Ocean Depths appears much bluer than it does in the image above. Combined with the gold accents along the titanium frame and fingerprint sensor, Ocean Depths looks like a stunning colorway. A new wave is coming. #EssentialPhone pic.twitter.com/YPFgzusFhb — Essential (@essential) February 13, 2018 From the looks of it, the Essential Phone will be available in Ocean … [Read more...] about Essential Phone will finally be available in Ocean Depths starting tomorrow

Edge, Microsoft’s latest browser that replaced the venerable Internet Explorer, could be coming to iPad soon. According to reports, an iPad version of the browser is in the works and a beta is likely to happen by February. The Microsoft Edge browser was already available on Android devices and iPhones since last year. In fact, it is doing quite well on the iOS platform as one of its top 5 utility apps. However, what is notably missing, is the iPad support for the browser. But that gap is about to be remedied soon if reports are correct. In a Twitter post, Microsoft Edge product manager Sean Lyndersay revealed that an iPad version of the browser is now in the product testing stage. What’s even more exciting for iPad users is that a beta testing of the app, which anyone with iPad can participate in, will likely happen by February. “Shh, don't tell anyone, but the iPad version is in internal testing and looking great,” Lyndersay wrote. “It'll take a little … [Read more...] about Microsoft Edge Browser Will Soon be Available on Apple iPad
Will it be the all-in-one box or separate devices? That's the debate raging around here at ZDTV and in the industry. Some think that in a few years we'll be watching TV, surfing the Net, hanging with our instant-messaging buddies and selecting our digital groove tunes all from a single box. This is the true essence of convergence, where "lean forward activities" (e-mail, data navigation and browsing, chat, etc.) and "lean backwards activities" (couch potato type stuff like watching ZDTV) are done on a single enhanced TV device. One box, lots of watching and interacting activities. Others say that instead we'll end up with a range of specialized devices. The TV will remain essentially unchanged, but we'll add-on Internet and other digital appliances specialized by task. Imagine a Webpad with barcode reader, touch screen and perhaps keyboard that would be ideal for the kitchen. A wireless Webpad, with touch screen, might be carried around for checking e-mail, chatting and … [Read more...] about Will it be the all-in-one box or separate devices?

December 11, 2017 - Written By Kristijan Lucic LG had introduced a new, premium smartphone on December 7, the LG Signature Edition, and the company has just confirmed to us that the device will not be available outside of South Korea. The LG Signature Edition is a limited edition smartphone which was announced in LG’s homeland a couple of days ago, and LG confirmed back then that it will manufacture only 300 units of the LG Signature Edition. That fact alone suggested that the phone will not become available outside of Korea, though nothing has been confirmed, until now. The LG Signature Edition is priced at 2 million won in South Korea, which translates to around $1,800, and LG says that a market for such pricey phones is very limited, so that could be the reason why the company is not planning to release it outside of Korea, even though some people would probably be interested in getting this handset. The LG Signature Edition is a very sleek-looking smartphone, it’s … [Read more...] about LG Signature Edition Will Not Be Available Outside Of Korea

You’ll be able to buy it from the Misfit website. It’s been a long road to launch, and one full of changes — the Misfit Vapor ran Misfit’s proprietary operating system when it was first announced, but Misfit soon decided to instead go with Android Wear 2.0. With the demand for Bitcoin increasing in Switzerland, the country is taking steps to allow its citizens to easily obtain the digital currency.Starting Nov. 11, customers on the Swiss railway will be able to trade their Swiss francs for Bitcoins on ticket machines. While people will be able to buy Bitcoin, train tickets will not be available for purchase using the digital money. The SBB, Switzerland’s national rail service, told the BBC it had been testing demand for Bitcoin across the country, resulting in a decision to launch the service, which will serve as a two-year pilot project to start. While purchase of Bitcoins will be relatively simple, buyers would have to enter their cell phone number for security and identification purchases, and people will only be able to spend 500 Swiss Francs per transaction.“One Bitcoin currently equals around 708.64 Swiss Francs, but it is possible to buy fractions of the currency,” the BBC said. The BBC reported that SweePay, a … [Read more...] about Bitcoin will soon be available for purchase on Swiss railway ticket machines
Over the past few years, nearly every PC component, including storage drives, graphics accelerators, motherboards, and CPUs, has seen significant performance updates—everything except the DDR (double data rate) DRAM (dynamic random access memory) chips used as system RAM in our laptops, PCs, servers, and some tablets. The current DRAM standard, DDR3 , was launched in 2007, and it has been the primary memory chip used in a wide range of computing devices for most of that time. But change is coming, at last. Here’s what you need to know about the new standard. How fast is DDR4? Later this year, Intel will release its Haswell-E X99 chipset with support for DDR4: the new, faster memory chip standard. After five years of development, the new chips will provide roughly 50 percent more bandwidth and … [Read more...] about The lowdown on DDR4 RAM: When will it get here, and what will it do once it arrives?
YouTube has come a long way from its humble start as a meme generator – the site that birthed the likes of the Numa Numa guy, MysteryGuitarMan, and Jenna Marbles. Today, it’s blossoming into a platform for the next generation of media and entertainment. But can YouTube really make the leap from online novelty to mainstream TV provider? Above and beyond the technological challenges, the site has an image problem it will need to address.A quiet investmentEarlier this year, YouTube pledged $300 million to develop 100 carefully selected original content channels, some of which have yet to get off of the ground. Today, YouTube has one foot in its past as a clip factory, and another foot in its future as a TV platform. Unfortunately, YouTube’s current strategy makes it difficult for two brands co-exist on one platform.YouTube has been shying away from publicly promoting the 100 channels it has been funneling money to. For instance, it takes three pages … [Read more...] about Opinion: YouTube is now a TV platform, but when will it start acting like one?
Dodge may have stunned the automotive world with all the facts and figures related to its new Challenger SRT Demon, but there's a big mystery number that will be key to its marketplace performance: Price. At the street/strip star's Tuesday night unveil, there was no mention of cost of entry, and officials have remained mum on pricing throughout the New York Auto Show's press days. And while we still have no idea what the Demon will cost, we do have a good idea of when we'll know more, as well as how and where you'll be able to buy it.In my Wednesday interview with Tim Kuniskis, Dodge's head of passenger car brands, shed some light on when the company will divulge the car's asking price: "I think probably in about two months. Our goal is by June to have the distribution system out -- how we're going to allocate the vehicles to the dealers, and the pricing, all at the same time." Just 3,300 units are planned for the Demon's one-year production run, with 3,000 units coming to the US and … [Read more...] about Dodge Challenger SRT Demon pricing: When will it be available?
