Apple has extended the usefulness of both the iPad Air and the iPhone with iOS 8. New features in the OS will be appreciated by consumers, and are especially useful in a business setting. With iOS 8 and the upcoming OS X Yosemite release, Apple's engineers are moving to make using its products seamless. With the Handoff and Continuity features, users can start something on either iOS or OS X and pick up where they left off on another device. This ability to move activities around is enabled in both Apple's and third-party apps. The philosophy driving this is to allow the user to focus on the activity, not the platform nor device used to do it. There's a potential cost saving benefit to businesses with Handoff and Continuity. The instant hotspot feature can eliminate the expense of integrated LTE on the iPad. The OS X participation in these activities won't be around until Yosemite ships, but they are alive and well in iOS 8. This provides nearly seamless integration between late … [Read more...] about iPhone 6 Plus and iPad Air: Outstanding duo for work

I bought a Sony Xperia Z2 from Handtec back in May and thought it was the phone for me. While it was great, the rumors of a Z3 kept me from keeping it. Now that I have spent a week with the new T-Mobile Sony Xperia Z3, I am extremely pleased I waited for this upgraded model — which may be the best Android phone available today. After selling that Xperia Z2 on Swappa and moving through a few other phones in the last couple of months, my most recent infatuation has been with the Apple iPhone 6 Plus . But I now have at least 10 reasons (keep reading this review) for preferring the Sony Xperia Z3 over the iPhone 6 Plus.. I checked out the evaluation Z3 for just two days before ordering my own and returning the review unit. The Xperia Z3 gives me a high end device with waterproof characteristics at a reasonable price, along with the great benefits of T-Mobile ownership. T-Mobile customers should take a serious look at the Z3 before buying a new smartphone. Specifications … [Read more...] about Sony Xperia Z3 review: Superb design and capabilities that best the Apple iPhone 6
The iPhone 6 and the Galaxy S6 are the two rival flagships of the smartphone world, but you might be forgiven for finding it increasingly hard to tell them apart. Some of the obvious features that distinguished the Galaxy S5 from the iPhone 5s - the plastic body, removable battery, and microSD card support - are gone in the new glass and metal S6. At the same time, the iPhone 6 with its larger screen and support for NFC adds features that had previously been associated with the Galaxy range. So when it comes to specs, how do they match up? But below is a non-exhaustive lists of the specs of both devices. I've tried to boil this down to the elements most interesting to a business audience, so any omissions are mine. You can find much greater detail on the specs of the iPhone 6 here and Galaxy S6 here. It's also worth noting that Apple's handset was unveiled in September last year (check out the gallery of pictures from the launch at the bottom of this page) and Samsung's top of the … [Read more...] about Samsung Galaxy S6 versus Apple iPhone 6: What do the specs tell us?

I'm a two-smartphone kind of guy. My current smartphones of choice: The Apple iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4.Both the iPhone 6 and Note 4 are high-end, cutting-edge devices packed with valuable and unique features. This past week, my wife and I stayed with my father and his family for a week, which included him, my stepmother, and two younger brothers. He has been an AT&T customer for years and was struggling to understand how the company's new Mobile Share Value Plans worked.I realized that while AT&T's newer plans are an excellent value for families, particularly those with a number of devices, the company has not done the best job explaining its plans. So, I helped my dad pick out the best plan for him, and I'm here to help you as well.Back in the day, iPhone buyers would simply choose how many monthly voice minutes and text messages they wanted to use because they had unlimited data. Then, AT&T got rid of unlimited data, and there were three decisions to make: voice minutes, data allotment, and text messaging. Now, choosing a smartphone data plan is much easier. Smartphone users are using much less voice minutes these days, and competition has driven down the cost of … [Read more...] about How to buy iPhones and iPads with AT&T Next and Mobile Share plans
Earlier this week, Apple announced the successor to the iPhone line due to be released on Friday, September 19, 2014. The months of speculation, rumor, and leaked screenshots have culminated in Apple releasing two iPhone 6 models and reshuffling their existing lineup to include the iPhone 5C as the entry-level model, with former king of the hill — iPhone 5S — sitting between the 5C and 6, respectively.Along with the newly added iPhone 6 models, Apple has increased the price on the top-level model, the iPhone 6 Plus by $100, which adds to the dilemma many users have been mulling over since the announcement.
