Choice is usually a good thing. I like having the option to get more storage, a faster processor, or to max out the RAM. I usually love that, but I find being faced with having to choose between the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus is causing me to have last-minute jitters as to which handset I pull the trigger on. I've no intention of queuing up for the iPhone 6 – I have far better things to do with my time – but I'm still keen to pull the trigger on a preorder as soon as they hit the online Apple Store. When it comes to capacity and color, I know what I want – Space Gray, 64GB – but on the issue of size I'm divided. Instinctively I want to go for the iPhone 6 Plus, not just because of the larger screen, but also because of the better battery life and the optical image stabilization. James Kendrick makes a very compelling case for going with the iPhone 6 Plus . But in order to get my hands on these cool features I need to buy a handset that's … [Read more...] about The iPhone 6 screen size dilemma: 4.7-inch or 5.5-inch?

I worked at a phone shop where we repair phones. Costumers always come in with either a broken iphone screen (including broken backpanel) or a broken Samsung (galaxy model) screen. From S3 all the way to S5 and from 3s to 5s. Apple and Samsung make lots of profit from the poor costumers because they break after the slightest drop. I have only seen 1 Xperia z1 that … [Read more...] about Comments for : Video shows front panel measurement for the Apple iPhone 6

It just becomes more fragile and hard to hold with a smaller battery. I just don't get it. posted on 22 Aug 2014, 10:14 0 42. buccob (Posts: 2834; Member since: 19 Jun 2012) I like chubby phones with smaller footpring.... They tend to be made when the design calls for the camera module to be directly behind the screen (and keep the whole back leveled, no bumps)... Examples of this are my current Xperia Acro S and newer Xperia SP, ZL, ZL2... 55. Droid_X_Doug (Posts: 5993; Member since: 22 Dec 2010) Personally, the iP5/5S is thin enough. Apple's iPhones have been great game devices for years. In fact, iPhones are the gadgets that helped reinvent mobile gaming and steer it away from the domain of companies like Nintendo and Sony. But here's the truth: I use the iPad Mini more for gaming than I do my iPhone. The reasons are: the iPad can play enhanced games with "made for iPad" layouts, including some games that don't make the leap to phone at all. The iPad generally has more storage and battery life to burn than my space- and battery-challenged phone. And its screen is bigger. The new iPhones are improved: they both have bigger screens, and better graphics. But can the new iPhones replace your dedicated gaming handheld altogether? I use a Nintendo 3DS XL and PlayStation Vita regularly. I love them both. Sure, they're extra gadgets to pack in a bag. But both have big screens, good dedicated buttons and control sticks, and libraries full of really great retro, indie, and mainstream, dozens-of-hour-of-gameplay … [Read more...] about Can the iPhone 6 replace your gaming handheld?
I'm a two-smartphone kind of guy. My current smartphones of choice: The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Apple iPhone 6.Both the Note 4 and iPhone 6 are high-end, cutting-edge devices packed with valuable and unique features. They're two of the best smartphones available today, which is why they've found homes in my pockets.Neither device is perfect, though. When you use them alongside each other, their individual strengths and weaknesses quickly become apparent. The following list details six things the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 does that the iPhone 6/iPhone 6 Plus can't do — or at least can't do as well.[Related: 6 Things iPhone 6 Does That Galaxy Note 4 Can't](Note: The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are nearly identical, with three exceptions. The iPhone 6 Plus is notably bigger, the iPhone 6 screen resolution is lower than the 6 Plus screen, and the iPhone 6 Plus has an optical image stabilization camera feature that the iPhone 6 lacks. Unless otherwise stated, the conclusions I make … [Read more...] about 6 things Galaxy Note 4 does that iPhone 6 can’t
The almost weekly leaks of details around the new screen on the iPhone 6 continues. This week it was 9to5Mac’s images of the glass layer of the screen, which shows a more rounded edge. If this is the actual design (as always, the jury is out until the reveal of the final product) then the styling of the iPhone 6 edges will be in line with handsets such as the Nexus 4 and the Lumia 925.In all these leaks, the shiny superficiality of the iPhone 6 is being emphasized. The flood of stories place the iPhone 6 (or whatever Apple decides to call it) on a pedestal, to be looked at with awe and wonder, and allowing readers the thrill and honor of looking at the handset early, before the rest of the world. The articles also have the handy effect of driving traffic, so as always my variant of Taniyama-Shimura is in effect. Many of these leaks are from the supply chain that must necessarily be in place for the construction of the next iPhone, which will all be gearing up for production right … [Read more...] about About That Curved IPhone 6 Screen
Apple's new iPhone 6 versions are widely rumored to come with larger display screens than ever before. Apple is said to be working on 2 new versions of its next flagship iPhone 6 smartphone. One version is speculated to have 4.7-inch display while the other is reported to come with big 5.5-inch screen. And Apple is expected to launch its new iPhone 6 device this autumn. Now a current report from Reuters claims that the Apple suppliers are going to begin the mass production of new iPhone displays as early as May. However, the same report points that the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 screens are expected to be produced first while the 5.5-inch iPhone version could be delayed. Some inside sources, who asked not to be identified, told Reuters that "Japan Display Inc, Sharp Corp and South Korea's LG Display Co Ltd have all been tapped to make the screens." However, Japan Display is said to be the first supplier who will to start production, "at its flagship plant at Mobara, east of Tokyo, as early as … [Read more...] about Mass Production Of 4.7″ IPhone 6 Screen To Start In May, 5.5″ Versions Could Be Delayed
The iPhone 6 screen size is debated online, Microsoft Office arrives on the iPad, staff are being sought for the iWatch, Mavericks reaches 40%, what is happening with the sapphire production, diversity in emojis, iBeacons at MLB parks, and the secret Scottish Apple store plans are a little less secret. Apple Loop is here to remind you of a few of the very many things that happened around Apple over the last seven days. Now Every Snowball Has A Chance…I don’t think there’s much doubt about the big news this week. Microsoft’s release of Office for the iPad (with iOS versions of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel now available) opens up a world of possibilities for personal users, but this is going to be bigger news for Enterprise users. Because an Office 365 subscription is required, there will be countless iPad-equipped workers who have just had their productivity options increased because their workplace already has an Enterprise 365 subscription.Apple is still taking … [Read more...] about Apple Loop: IPhone 6 Screens, Microsoft Office For IPad, IBeacons For MLB, Secret Scottish Apple Stores
When it comes to smartphones, how big is too big? Apple fans will have to answer that one for themselves, after the company launched two new iPhones that are both significantly larger than last year's 4-inch iPhone 5s. The first phone that Apple revealed is the iPhone 6, a 4.7-inch smartphone with smooth, rounded corners, as well as a faster processor and sharper display than its predecessor. Also revealed was the iPhone 6 Plus, a supersize iPhone with a 5.5-inch screen. But screen size isn't the only way that these two phones differ. The larger phone comes with extra software features and a bigger battery – but also with a steeper price tag. In other ways, the phones are quite similar, packing the same super-fast processor and a nearly identical design. So which one is better for business users? Read on for a feature-for-feature comparison between the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. iPhone 6: It's an iPhone, so there's no plastic here.
