Dissecting Apple's new iPhones for business pros With Apple's iPhone X finally available for pre-order on Friday, Oct. 27, it's worth looking at how Apple's flagship and Samsung's latest Galaxy devices compare for business buyers. When it comes to stacking these phones up against each other, particularly in the consumer space, the raw hardware specs are what usually make one phone stand out against another. However, as I have been quickly learning, although they are good general indicators of technological maturity, you can't look at speeds and feeds alone when it comes to flagship smartphones and their overall business worthiness. It should be noted that when it comes to raw industrial design, none of these phones, with the exception of the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active are particularly well-suited for vertical market, field-oriented applications. That's because, even though they may be IP67/IP68 water resistant, they aren't hardened in any way against drops or side impacts out of the … [Read more...] about iPhone X vs Galaxy Note 8: Which phone has better business specs?

Review By Daniel Eran Dilger Wednesday, November 01, 2017, 10:54 pm PT (01:54 am ET) Apple's iPhone X introduces the next decade of iOS. It pairs an advanced, full-face display with a strikingly beautiful glass and steel design. But in the fast-moving world of technology innovators, the prime directive is to "move fast and break things" to deliver something even better. Apple prefers to think of its new phone as finally … [Read more...] about iPhone X review: Apple’s Face ID vision for the future of iOS

With the iPhone 6 widely expected to land in the fall, Apple is faced with the usual problem of trying to entice consumers to lay down money for the current version of its handset.Of course, one way to clear stock in the run up to a new product launch is to slash prices, and that’s exactly what Walmart is reportedly doing today with the iPhone 5S and 5C. The retail giant is expected to begin offering the 16GB model for $99 with a two-year contract (AT&T, Verizon or Sprint), saving buyers $50.The more wallet-friendly 5C, on the other hand, is getting a $20 discount, leaving it with a $29 price tag. Apple’s iPhone 5 is thinner, lighter, and packs a high-performance Apple-designed processor, a taller display, and 4G LTE connectivity. Unsurprisingly, it’s also racking up monstrous sales. After tallying 2 million pre-orders in 24 hours, Apple managed to sell 5 million iPhone 5’s in its first weekend of sales. The figures represent Apple’s strongest iPhone launch to date.
